Talk to us a bit about community, about yourselves, and about PorchFest, please…
1 -Is this your first time hosting a porch? Did you get to PorchFest last year?
We didn’t know a thing about it last year when we were asked to host, but we said, “Yes!” and had a great time!
2- What were your favorite things about last year?
The weather and the music were great, but the most fun was visiting with everyone who stopped by.
3- What advice would you give to new PorchFest hosts (“porches”)?
To relax and have a good time.
4- What is “community”? How do we build it?
It doesn’t happen automatically. It takes events like PorchFest as well as people willing to organize it and participate in it.
5- What advice would you give to visitors this year?
Don’t be shy. Make a concerted effort to expand and extend your friendship to lots of people.
6- What do you hope to accomplish at PorchFest this year?
To meet lots of people, to help others connect, and to enjoy the day.
7- What things will you be doing to make this year’s event extra special?
Cool drinks if it’s hot and warm drinks if it’s cool.
