Talk to us a bit about community, about yourselves, and about PorchFest, please…

 

1-What were your favorite things about last year?

We loved hosting, meeting new folks and encouraging fun!

 

2- What advice would you give to new visitors this year?

Move from porch to porch and take in all the comradery West Central has to offer.

 

3- What advice would you give to new porch hosts (“porches”) this year?

Act enthusiastic and you’ll be enthusiastic; make it fun!

 

4- What is “community”? 

Community is unity. It’s built through communication and friendships. You have to be in it to win it!

 

5- What do you hope to accomplish at PorchFest? What do you want to help PorchFest accomplish?

To involve more people in sociability and kindness. To help PorchFest grow.

 

6- What have you been doing to help PorchFest since last year’s event?

Promoting, promoting, promoting! Signage, bands, you name it!

 

7- What things will you be doing to make this year’s event special?

Welcoming everyone who comes by our porch, putting out seating, offering waters, etc.

 

8- Why should people come to the event?

To check out how a real village can work.
