I had an amazing time getting to know Steven Pinker during his visit here. I worked with EWU’s Foundation to provide high quality images of his lectures with students at EWU, his talk at the INB Center, as well as his time spent getting to know many people from the EWU community. I also provided special images for the donor who made this whole visit happen. I also prepared a slide show that was shown on the massive INB screen prior to the event to get the attendees excited about the show.

Startup Weekend Spokane
This was just an amazing event! I love the energy and they urgency of it – get people together, toss out some ideas, form teams, build a plan together and before the weekend finishes compete to find funding. Think fast, work together, now! Great way to spend a weekend getting to know Spokane’s Young Entrepreneur Scene.
Leadership Spokane Graduation & Commencement
I just began to work with Leadership Spokane, a fantastic organization working to make Spokane a better place!
Linda Finney, its director, is so talented and sweet and easy to work with – a total pro!
“Leadership Spokane is committed to servant leadership training and professional development for leaders throughout the region. When diverse leaders from a variety of organizations come together, bringing the richness of their perspectives and experiences, they make better decisions and the community prospers. Youth Leadership Spokane develops the next generation of servant leaders by creating strong and healthy youth, and empowering them for service to each other and to their community.
The Leadership Spokane program is specifically designed to build organizational and individual capacity and foster success, both in volunteer and professional leadership roles. Program participants enhance their leadership skills, improve their understanding of the community’s organizations, businesses, issues and history, and gain access to a key leadership network that is moving the greater Spokane region forward.”
This is the beginning of a much more lengthy project that I will formally announce at some point in the future. Stay tuned…
Hoopfest
Well, Hoopfest is just around the corner!
Like every single person that lives in Spokane or has visited Spokane, I love the fact that the ENTIRE community gets together, decides to shut down downtown to vehicle traffic, and put thousands of people in the middle of the city.
And gets them doing something to work the heart and lungs, as well as to play with a team.
It’s a win, win, win!
First Major Spokane-based Project… Spokane Fifty (S50)
I’ve been working for months on my first Spokane-based project and we’re just a couple of weeks away from it’s release!
It’s called SPOKANE FIFTY (S50)and there’s more information at spokanefifty.com.
I have not yet talked to the media about this; I think we’re going to start small and do some underground stuff first and let it build organically and go from there.
I’ve also got a twitter page, but we’re still in the pre-release stage, so, for now there’s not much there. @spokanefifty
This is going to be fun!!
SpIFF 2013 Spokane International Film Festival
I had the pleasure of being a sponsor of this year’s SpIFF, and fantastic festival here in Spokane! There, I started to get to know their excellent staff, including director Pete Porter and CAA Board Members Carey Jackson and Irv Broughton. I was also able to meet Luke Baumgarten, in charge of the “Posterize” event, which brought together the talented local design community to work on posters for each of the films chosen for this year’s edition of SpIFF. The filmmakers loved the posters and I believe they will be used in the actual campaigns for several movies.
If you have an event and want it to look GREAT, don’t hesitate to call me – the sooner the better, because if somebody beats you to it, I can’t work with you…
